Learn about the program’s foundations

To train military professionals for the Ecuadorian Air Force, highly qualified in the Military Pilot and Military Aeronautical Technician tracks, with solid academic training in aeronautical sciences, military ethics, and leadership. Graduates will be committed to the military institution and will develop professional, operational, and technical competencies through rigorous and disciplined instruction, with the purpose of ensuring the security and defense of Ecuador’s airspace and sovereignty.

By 2030, the program seeks to become an academic benchmark in the region, recognized for excellence in the training of military aeronautical leaders. Graduating officers will stand out for their professionalism, operational capacity, ethical responsibility, and commitment to national security and defense, as well as peace. The program aims to remain at the forefront of technology and doctrine, integrating innovations in the field of aeronautics to address contemporary challenges and threats to national security and defense.

Graduates develop habits of adaptation to the internal regime and military communication language, leading teams with strict adherence to legal regulations and military discipline, while maintaining respect for the members of the group. In addition, they develop subordination and awareness of military discipline, respecting fundamental, institutional, and personal values. Future professionals form critical judgments regarding values and attitudes in the face of social, personal, and relational problems and conflicts, while showing respect for the environment, nature, Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, gender equity, and interculturality.

The professionals we educate and the competencies you will develop

Their training enables them to work with professionals in aeronautics and space, including engineers and technicians, as well as with professionals from other disciplines that may be involved in their activities, such as avionics, civil construction, mechanics, electricity, electronics, and information technology. They may also provide aeronautical services independently.

The Bachelor of Military Aeronautical Sciences is trained to perform in areas such as technical offices, training management, maintenance, workshops, laboratories, planning and engineering, operations, certifications, inspections, arbitration, technical representation, and quality management. They may work as employees or independently in different phases of the production processes of the aeronautical industry, in service companies, and in aeronautical infrastructure.

They carry out activities in any military unit of the Air Force at the tactical level, according to their classification. They manage essential information to determine combat support capabilities and apply probabilistic calculations to reduce uncertainty levels in air operations. Military professionals also integrate and analyze information for planning and appropriate decision-making in tactical employment, and apply the fundamentals of air power in external defense, internal defense, multinational, and comprehensive state security operations, in accordance with aerospace doctrine. They are capable of carrying out military planning, employing ground security and defense systems at Air Bases, and participating in the development of external and internal defense military operations.

They recognize physical and chemical principles to explore the limits of the national aerospace dimension, develop critical and abstract thinking through mathematical and philosophical analysis of the context in which the military profession is carried out, and transparently manage the resources assigned to tactical units. They conduct research to meet cognitive needs and manage information securely. They process information to draw logical conclusions and propose viable solutions, solving problems with critical judgment and presenting ethical alternatives that allow them to exercise command and leadership, as well as resource management. Both tracks develop the ability to transfer knowledge through instruction.

In Track I, graduates pilot fixed-wing aircraft in strict compliance with the flight manual. They perform performance calculations for maneuvers during flight operations.

In Track II, according to their specialty — personnel, supplies, air armament, air infantry, intelligence, air defense, electronics, maintenance, information technology, or communications — graduates may calculate armament and fuel provisions, manage personnel, handle aeronautical communications according to international standards, and provide security for aeronautical infrastructure.
