Compliance with the Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPDP)
The Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE, as a Public Higher Education Institution, reaffirms its commitment to the protection and the lawful, fair, and transparent processing of personal data, in strict compliance with the Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPDP) and related regulations. Below is essential information regarding the institution’s personal data processing activities:

Purposes
Personal data is processed in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Processing Privacy Policy of the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE, for academic, administrative, research, outreach, and other activities inherent to its institutional mission.
Legal Basis
The processing of personal data is legitimate based on the free, specific, unequivocal, and informed consent of the Data Subject.
Retention
Personal data will be processed and retained for the period strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and in observance of applicable legal, contractual, and regulatory obligations. The Data Subject may exercise their right to data erasure by submitting a request to the Personal Data Protection Officer, without prejudice to corresponding legal obligations.
Exercise of Rights
Data Subjects may exercise their rights through:
- Physically: Submit the application at the University’s User Service Centre, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Digitally: Send the request to the email: datos-personales@espe.edu.ec

Personal Data Protection Officer
The Personal Data Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, guaranteeing secure and confidential processing, and serving as a liaison between the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE and the Data Subjects.
